Il Gelsomino is part of a 250 year old stone property, tastefully refurbished for a comfortable holiday retreat. The entrance is up steep stone steps to the private terrace via the courtyard. The English speaking owner lives across the courtyard, and is willing to give information and loan local maps.

This charming apartment has chestnut beams, cotto floors and central heating. Double aspect views of the hills and 14 century church and village in the kitchen and double bedroom. There are plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. The cosy reading room which has plenty of books, and a single bed or sofa plus the bathroom are on the first floor. The double bedroom which is on the second floor, has a cast iron bed (160 cms wide) with a good comfortable mattress.

Easy free parking is available in the church square or side roads.

Location description

Lucca is an enchanting city surrounded by walls. Antique markets plus the weekly market appeals to all ages. Santa Maria Del Guidce has local food shops, a chemist, a post office, a restaurant and a pasticceria for day to day supplies. Supermarkets and deli's are in Lucca. The beaches of Versillia are 35 mins drive away plus the fishing port of Viareggio.
