Description of holiday apartment in Leukerbad, Valais

The apartment offers you the chance to relax in a quiet, central location in the small town of Leukerbad. It is furnished and equipped to a very high standard, and offers TV and DVD (there are several DVDs at the apartment for your use), log burning stove for a cosy feel in the Winter, and stunning views from the South facing balcony. Internet is now available in the apartment.

Leukerbad has a micro-climate and offers on average more than 260 days of sunshine per year, and you can take full advantage on the balcony, which has outdoor dining furniture - sit and watch the sun disappear over the mountain, listen to the cow bells clinking in the distance, over a glass of refreshing Swiss wine...... It faces south, and the views across the mountain are spectacular.

The kitchen is fully equipped and feedback from guests is that there is everything you need to be able to cook "at home". There is a microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, 4 rig hob and oven, etc.

There are communal laundry and drying facilities for which there is a small charge.

Bedrooms: we have furnished the bedrooms with comfort in mind, so there is ample storage and the mattresses are of good quality and reasonably firm. The Doube Bedroom has a large double bed, with individual mattresses and the second bedroom has two large individual beds.

There is a communal in house Wellness Facility which offers a Sauna, Jacuzzi, Kneipp Bath, and Steam Room, together with a Solarium. There is also a fully equipped gym.

There is also a garage in the apartment block. Lift. Ski Room.In house concierge assistance.

Location description

Leukerbad is in the Saas Fee, Zermatt triangle, is better value and still retains the original charm of a Swiss town, nestled quietly in the mountains. It is a year round resort, offering downhil skiing in the Winter (the ski lift is 4 minutes walk away), as well as many cross country routes, which are well maintained. Walking in both Winter and Summer right from the doorstep. And it is a well known centre for challenging cycling. And the main attraction is the variety of thermal pools, only a couple of minutes walk away from the apartment. Imagine lazing outdoors in bubbling waters, looking up at the snow capped peaks......a wonderful way to relax and yet retain vitality.

Leukerbad is accessible by public transport, on the rail network with a connecting bus from Leuk station. At Geneva aiport you can get on a direct train, right in the airport through to Leuk. Or you can catch any train to Lausanne and trains run to Leuk from there every 15 minutes or so.
By car, it is just over a 2 hour drive.
