    Lovely holiday apartment for rent in a luxury Complex, just 500 meters walk from the beach. The flat is located on the Northern Black Sea Coast, on the pretty yacht port of Kavarna. All guests can take the advantage of the two outdoor swimming pools and children playground in the Complex. The flat is located at 5 minutes walking distance to the beach, and very close to the town bars, restaurants, discotheque and shops. The town center is 5 min drive away /3 km/.

    The apartment is self-catering and offers two sunny bedroom – both with double beds; linen and towels are provided. The apartment is serviced with two modern bathroom - one with a shower and the other one with a bath tub.

    Location description

    Kavarna is a small port town which has a broad outlet on the Black Sea to the Eastern and Southern sides. The Municipality of Kavarna is situated in the most eastern part of the Dunabian Plain and belongs to the Dobrudzha littoral. The relief is plain to plain-hilly. More than 75% of the municipal territory is fertile cultivated areas.

    The picturesque Kavarna coast is 42 km long. The total of its beaches is 74 000 sq.m.

    The underground waters are abundant, especially the mineral ones. In the bowels of the earth there are deposits of black coals, natural gas and others.

    The potential of Kavarna Municipality for modern sea tourism development is great. There are excellent conditions for its combination with culture and exploiting, hunting, country and eco tourism. The building of the up-to-date infra-structure and the development of alternative forms of tourism attract the investor’s interest towards the tourist business.

    Kavarna is one of the ancient towns on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. First it was situated nearer to the sea but after an earthquake in I c. B.C. the old town Byzone has been partly covered by the sea and later, in Roman times, it was rebuilt in a new place, 3 km inland. During the times of the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdom it was the administrative centre of Dobrudja.

    Places of special interest to environmentalists are the reserve areas of Yailata, Chirakman historic site, Bolata, Dalboka, Roussalka, The White Lagoon and Kalyakra itself. They are famous for steppe and endemic vegetation, birds and animals. These are also main tourist centers nearby.

    Kavarna is the new Bulgarian Mecca of rock music. Just in the summer of 2005 in the small sea side town 12 world-famous rock bands played on the local stadium. Rock stars as “Uriah Heep”, “Nazareth”, “Saxon”, “Rainbow”, “Black Sabbath”, “Deep Purple” and many others brought together over 7000 fans of rock music.

    Kaliakra is a beautiful cape close to the Romanian border. Usually, it is the final stop of foreign tourists looking for pretty sights and interesting places to the north of Varna. Close to Kaliakra (12 km) one can visit the town of Kavarna, which lies 60 km away from Varna.

    The cape stretches 2km deep into the sea and consists of 60-70m-high limestone rocks, the inaccessibility of which has been the main reason for the construction of an ancient fortress named Tirisis there.

    The fortress was successively used by Tracians, Romans, Byzantines and Bulgarians.

    According to legends, the fortress was guarding the treasuries of Lyzimah, successor of Alexander the Great. Today there are quite a few remains of those ancient settlements, which can be seen exhibited in a small museum.

    One can also read there a legend telling the story of several Bulgarian girls who chose to jump from the high cape into the sea but not to be captured and converted to Islam by the Turks.

    The Kaliakra cape was declared a protected area in 1941. The protected area has since been expanded already three times and currently reaches some 50 ha.

    It is one of the few places where the rare species of monk-seals, found only in the northern part of the Bulgarian coast, were to be seen not long ago.

    A few decades ago, about 130 of these rare animals were counted in the area. Unfortunately, water pollution, illegal hunting and development of the tourism industry were the key reasons for their extinction in the early 80's. Back in 1980, the protected area was expanded again and today it reaches 687 ha.

    The cape is a natural and an archaeological reserve. The Aristotle cormorant can be found nesting there. Dolphins can be also seen.

    The Kaliakra Cape can be accessed by car. There are also irregular buses from Kavarna and Balchik organized by tour agencies.
