Description of holiday apartment in Kalkan, Turquoise Coast

Our apartments are set in a small block of 6 apartments in total. The block is adjacent to the Nur Hotel, a small family establishment owned by our friend Baris, a local who speaks perfect English, knows the area inside-out and is always on hand..."Just ask Baris" is the catchphrase here!

The apartments share a large swimming pool with a wide sun terrace overlooking Kalkan, with spectacular mountain views. The terrace is ideal for reading or sunbathing and each apartment (including the studio) has its own allocated sun-loungers and parasols.

This pool is exclusive to the apartments, but apartment guests are also welcome to use the hotel facilities, which include another large pool, a poolside bar for drinks and lunchtime snacks (room service available), and a beautiful rooftop breakfast terrace with spectacular views over Kalkan harbour. There is a supermarket almost next door to the hotel for essential provisions, together with a pharmacy and a doctor's surgery within a couple of minutes' walk - all speak good English - and the nearest restaurant is also right next door! Kalkan centre is just a five minute walk down a gentle slope. As we mentioned earlier, this was the most important criterion we had on our list when selecting our apartments in Kalkan!

Location description

Kalkan is an easy 90 minute drive from Dalaman airport, straight along the D400 road, through spectacular countryside with stunning mountain and coastal views. Private transfers can be easily arranged, or hire a car from the airport.

Other activities

Kalkan is famous for its fabulous restaurants, cobbled streets and boutiques.

Tourist attractions

Patara Beach - 18km of unspoilt sand backed by ancient Roman ruins.

The whole area is renowned for its historical significance, with ruins of the Roman, Lycian, Greek and Ottoman civilisations all along the beautiful turquoise coast.
