Location description

Franschhoek is a small village in the heart of the South African Wine-lands. It is an ideal village from which to explore the region. Cape Town is the largest city nearby and is a 45 minute drive into the city. Also nearby is the whale viewing town of Hermanus. Besides the beauty of Franschhoek itself there are also hundreds of wine estates to eat and do wine tasting at. Once again when you book I will give you ideas on where to eat and enjoy the area.

Directions

Driving from Cape Town International take all the signs that say Stellenbosch. Once you get to Stellenbosch you need to take the Aida's Valley road and head over the mountain pass called Hellshoogte ( in English means hells heights) It is a very good dual carriage hi-way most of the way. You drive through a town called Pniel and then follow the signs to the town of Franschhoek. Once you are about half an hour outside I will let you have the cell number of my check in lady. She will take over from there and make sure are settled into Le Grenier.
