The Apartment
View of the terrace in front of the apartment.There are many aspects of this pretty frontline ground floor one bedroom apartment that we hope will please you. It is decorated to a good standard.

It is spacious, having one bedroom with a fitted wardrobe, a full size bathroom with bidet and shower, a sizeable light airy lounge and a kitchen complete with a breakfast bar and dining area.

Swimming Pool outside the apartment.An additional benefit is that the apartment is on the ground floor level and only a few metres from the car parking space, ensuring easy access for all. The electricity and gas costs are included in the rental. A small welcome food/necessities pack is provided for your convenience. Description

Outside there is a terrace with patio furniture and extensive lawns in front with superb views of the Mediterranean. There are 2 swimming pools nearby, one being directly outside the apartment. There is a small beach 20 minutes walk away. A short walk over the rocks will take you to the superb large sandy beach at Tirant. Alternatively a drive to Tirant Bay takes only 10 minutes.

Kitchen and lounge area
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size cooker and hob. It includes a microwave, toaster and a fridge freezer. There is also a washing machine and tumble drier. Also provided are an ironing board, iron and a hairdryer.

The lounge is comfortable with a 3 seater settee and an easy chair. There is also a DVD/video player, mini hifi and CD system. The lounge patio doors fold back the entire width of the room to provide incredible views out to sea and the lighthouse at Cap Cavelleria.

Bathroom
The fully tiled bathroom includes a full size bath plus over shower and has a continuous hot water supply. There is a weekly linen and towel change for 2 week or more bookings. Prices include bed linen, bath and hand towels and tea towels. Please bring your own beach towels.

Bedroom
The bedroom has a double bed with sprung mattress and a full length wall to wall fitted wardrobe, bedside cabinets and a chest-of-drawers ensuring lots of space for your clothes.

There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom for your comfort on warm nights and a separate movable fan unit if needed.

Should you require it we also provide a mobile heater and dehumidifier. If required the sofa in the lounge pulls out to provide 2 more beds.

Location description

Menorca is a beautiful and tranquil island. It is still considered by many as one of the few remaining authentic and accessible paradises in the Mediterranean. It is the quietest of all the Balearic islands.

The rolling farmland, magnificent cliffs and exquisite golden sands will entrance you. Menorca is often compared with our own West Country with its red earth; dry stone walls and gently grazing fresian cattle.

Another view of the swimming pool just outside the apartment. Menorca is the perfect size for exploring, being only 50 x 20km approx. With roads relatively traffic free it is a pleasure to drive around the island. On one sun drenched day it would be possible discover a deserted beach, visit some of the archaeological monuments or a museum and finish off a perfect day by dining at one of the many elegant restaurants.

Menorca is an island offering something special for everyone with many architectural splendours and archaeological surprises and reputedly 365 beaches and coves for those dedicated to worshipping the sun and sand. Perhaps one of the most intriguing aspects to the island are the many beautifully preserved megalithic monuments which continue to remain a mystery, with varying romantic stories woven about their true origin.

Other activities

The seas around the island are crystalline and shimmering deep blue, soft sandy beaches, secluded coves and gentle breezes. It has a peacefulness and serenity seldom found in the modern world. The flora and fauna is beautiful and the island is regarded by the European Community to be of such significance the whole island has been declared a BIOSPHERE, the only one in the entire Mediterranean area.

Tourist attractions

Mahon is the capital city and is found to the east of the island and boasts one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Here you may stroll along the beautiful quay side admiring the fabulous yachts, the gin palaces of the rich, or just browse in the shops for leather goods and fashion jewelry. Menorca is famous for good quality leather ware and hosts a trade market each year to promote the sale of pretty and inexpensive costume jewellery.

The first time visitor to Mahon is often surprised to see the Georgian Customs House on the quayside and the many other beautiful buildings with their bow windows, only to discover that the island was under British rule for many years and also retains many English words in the local dialect.

Apart from the open-air markets, which trade mainly for the summer visitors, there are many cultural events to be enjoyed. Check out the English speaking magazine Roqueta for a list of concerts and art exhibitions.

Finally do not forget to sample the local gin, another legacy from British rule. You can combine a visit to the gin factory with a trip by boat around the harbor.
