The apartment is well furnished and equipped and set within a complex with 4 swimming pools and a children's park.

The apartment is raised off the ground floor so very secure but also great for kids and the infirm - as only 4 steps to climb. There is air conditioning, which also provides heating in the winter.

The apartment is well equipped and easy to maintain - the kitchen contains hob, oven, extractor fan, washer, microwave, large fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, juicer - and it leads straight onto the balcony for you to enjoy breakfast!

The bedrooms are spacious and have fitted wardrobes, security shutters and air conditioning.

There is also a double sofa bed in the living room, sleeping 2.

The first bedroom is en suite and each bedroom can be configured as twin or double.

The sun rises on bedroom side and there are shutters to block out all or partial light.

For times spent in the apartment there is a great array of books, CDs and DVDs and within 2 minutes walk you will find an excellent cafe (great for breakfast through to night caps) and a restaurant with a varied menu and run by a friendly couple.

Full bathroom with bath, shower and bidet, plus en suite bathroom with shower off the master bedroom. Both are fully tiled, have hot water on demand and are well lit.

Location description

Cabanas is a small resort of low rise properties - almost all private owned villas and apartments limited to 4 storeys high with very much a family atmosphere.

There are 3 golf courses within 5 minutes drive - Benamor, Quinta da Cima and Quinta da Ria - and within 20 minutes you can reach Castro Marim and the Jack Nicklaus designed Monte Rei. The Algarve is a golfers' dream - there are over 20 courses plus you can eaily access ones over the border in Spain.

The nearest town is Tavira with its cobbled streets, Roman bridge, castle and Chinese style roofs - great for a trip up the river or a meal. It is easily accessed by bus, car, taxi or train - all about 10 minutes.

Nearby Olhao is famous for its fishmarket

Heading East, Vila Real de Santo Antonio (VRSA) is 15 minutes away and on the border with Spain. It is a great place for shopping and gives access to the beaches of Monte Gordo and the castle at Castro Marim.

Across the border, a fast motorway takes you to Seville, 90 minutes from Cabanas, with great shopping, architecture and history.

Further West in the Algarve there are heaps over golf courses - over 20 to be exact - with 3 just 5 minutes away from the apartment.
There are great cliff backed beaches, old towns, walking, water parks, the most Westerly point of Europe at Cape St Vincent.

Walking is also great and there are a selection of walking books in the apartment

The beach is the star and as well as sunbathing and swimming, you can also windsurf and kite-surf (lessons available)

Directions

Cabanas is an easy 30 minute drive from Faro Airport
Faro is well served by the budget airlines - Easyjet, Jet2, bmibaby, Globespan etc and there are lots of car rentals at the airport

Head down the motorway (free) towards Spain leaving at Tavira and then you are just 10 minutes from Cabanas

You do not need a car in Cabanas - we can recommend a transfer company for around £12 per person. There is a train station and buses into Tavira.
