Description of holiday apartment in Bourganeuf, Limousin

Apartment 1 - Available all year and has 3 large bedrooms, a separate lounge, a kitchen/ plus a large bathroom with bath, large walk-in shower and WC, 2 of the bedrooms have a double bed, dressing table, wardrobe and bedside cabinets and 1 of the bedrooms is fitted with two single beds, wardrobe, dressing table and bedside cabinets with lamps. All rooms have central heating for the winter months and shutters to all windows.
The kitchen/Diner is equipped with all the necessary items for self catering including a pine table and chairs, full size fridge, cooker, and microwave.
In the lounge you will find comfortable seating and a TV with English freeview channels & DVD player. A fire is provided for any chilly evenings.
Or for larger groups we offer in addition to the above, an extra double bedroom with TV (french channels) and an additional toilet/shower room.

Apartment 2 -Has three large bedrooms, a separate lounge with TV with English freeview channels & DVD player, a large kitchen with dishwasher, separate dining room with large dining table for 6/8 persons and balcony from where you can enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The bathroom is equipped with bath, large walk-in shower and WC. Plus there is an additional WC. Two of the bedrooms have a double bed, dressing table, wardrobe and bedside cabinets and one of the bedrooms is fitted with a single bed plus a high sleeper with single bed over a sofa which converts to a double futon bed, wardrobe, dressing table and bedside cabinet. There are electric shutters to all windows.

All linen & towels (not pool towels) are included.
A washing machine is provided in the utility room for guests to use along with all BBQ equipment.
The shared swimming pool is available for guests to enjoy with a table, chairs and sun beds at your disposal. The pool is 9x4m and 1.4m deep and has a security gate.
There is an outside shower provided and a toilet/changing room.
Guests can enjoy the lake area as a quiet place to sit and read and relax. You will find plenty of seating area around
the lake and a covered barbeque area and BBQ is supplied for outdoor dining, in a beautiful setting.
Indoor games room with pool table, table tennis, table football and darts.
Children's play area with climbing frame, swings and slide.
We can also provide a travel cot and a chair for a baby to sit at the table at no extra charge.

Both apartments can be booked together for large groups or family get-togethers offering 7 bedrooms, 2 kitchen and lounge areas and 3 bath/shower rooms. Out of the summer season short breaks are welcome.

Location description

Our accommodation is situated just a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Bourganeuf which is a medieval town with Chateau, Tour de Zizim and has a traditional French market weekly for all your local produce including vegetables, meat & cheeses. There are also English speaking estate agents for those tempted to buy in this beautiful region. You will find bars and restaurants within walking distance of Le Petit Lac. There is lots to explore in this beautiful region from Lac Vassiviere with beach and numerous water sports, walking, fishing, chateaux, traditional markets, Golf courses, Zoos and fun parks.

Other activities

We offer boules, badminton, croquet and water volleyball on site.

Nearby Lac Vassiviere is a man made lake of 1000 hectares where you can enjoy windsurfing, canoeing, water-skiing, sailing, boat trips, rambling, riding, cycling and of course fishing! In the summer period the beach area has lifeguards for safe bathing, volleyball and a fun park for the children. You can take a tour of the lake by boat and there is a restaurant boat where you can enjoy either lunch or dinner. The island on Vassiviere is a great place to visit with animals, an art gallery and of course beautiful views. The island itself covers 173 acres of land, formerly part of vast estates once owned by the Vassiviere family whose stately home still stands on the original site.

Directions

We are a 50 minute drive from Limoges airport. Take the N141 from limoges (direction Clermont Ferrand) which becomes the D941 approximatly 10 minutes from Bourganeuf.
The drive from most northern French ferry ports will take approx 7/8 hours. Exit the A20 at junction 23, head for Gueret then follow the signs to Bourganeuf. Once in Bourganeuf follow the brown signs for the "Musée de l'électrification" as we are situated next door.
