The rental apartment is situated in a quiet location adjacent to Paloma Park, within 5 minutes stroll of the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. Accommodation consists of a lounge / diner with a double sofa-bed, 2 twin rooms, ensuite bathroom and a further shower room, plus a large fully fitted kitchen.

The apartment has a private terrace with views that overlook the landscaped gardens and community pool. It is within a secured community accessed by keys and is ideally situated between Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena so that you can enjoy both of what each town can offer.

Local buses and trains can take you to either Fuengirola (where you can go on to Marbella and Puerto Banus) or Torremolinos with its Water Park and wonderful long beach front promenade. A bit further by train to the wonderful city of Malaga is highly recommended.

Location description

Benalmadena Costa is a beautiful Andalusian coastal town situated 10 miles west of Malaga airport. It has an excellent climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year; constantly mild temperatures, which average well into the sixties even during the winter months. Paloma Park with its lake and animal centre is home to many different water fowl and turtles. There are two Spanish bars within the grounds together with an ice cream and refreshment bar. Rabbits, chickens, peacocks, etc., freely roam the Park and there are lovely walks through and around penned animals and streams. There are also children’s play areas for the very young. The Park is also home to the Selwo Dolphin and Sea Lion attraction, which includes Parrots and Penguins shows.

Benalmadena Costa enjoys a 9 kilometre stretch of attractive beaches and all the sporting and leisure possibilities of a busy resort town. You can stroll down one of the most attractive promenades in Europe and enjoy the relaxing blend of sea and sand as you're drawn in to seafront restaurants and shops. Benalmadena boasts one of the largest and busiest marinas in Spain, which provides the visitor with the opportunities to participate in fishing trips, sight-seeing trips, shopping in the many elegant shops or to just relax in one of the many restaurants and bars.

Other activities

There is a Market every Friday in the car park of Tivoli World (just behind the train station) and a Car boot sale on a Wednesday in the Feria of Paloma Park, which is interesting to walk around and see what the locals are selling.

Local events

The end of June enjoys a week long festival which can go on late into the night, so be prepared to join in.

Tourist attractions

Tivoli World the Costa del Sol's biggest amusement park. There are over two dozen thrilling rides to choose from as well as a tiny tots section, restaurants, bars and a professional calibre programme of concerts mainly by Spanish performers, as well as some 'lookalike' stars. Also, the spectacular cable car that takes you from just outside Tivoli to the peak of the Calamorro Mountain, rising up 724 metres, where the panorama is spectacular, with views on a clear day as far as the Rock of Gibraltar and the Coast of Morocco.

Directions

Access to Benalmadena Costa is easily arranged by either local taxi (€28 from the airport) or by taking the Costal Railway (less than €2 pp) to Arroyo de la Miel/Benalmadena. Although the train service stops running at 22.30pm daily. The apartment is a 10 minute walk down from Arroyo de la Miel towards Benalmadena and the sea, or alternatively, taxis are available outside the train station.
