Location description
AgadirThe magnificent, seaside resort of Agadir is situated just over 160 miles south west of Marrakech and is one of the liveliest cosmopolitan cities in modern Morocco.
Agadir has it’s own micro-climate which enjoys all year round temperatures. Shielded by the Atlas range and warmed by the winds from the Sahara Desert, Agadir has its own micro-climate which enjoys Canary Island all-year high temperatures - without the wind! The beach at Agadir is one of nature’s finest creations. A huge stretch of golden sand (complete with camels) is flanked by the brand new promenade offering numerous cafes, restaurants and bars.
FREE WI-FI is now also available at Le Blancs bar. This beach front cafe is a two minute walk from your accommodation. So you can surf the net whilst watching the surf roll in.
Swimming in the summer is possible anywhere, but in Agadir you can swim during any season of the year. The ambient climate makes late winter and early spring the perfect time to top up your tan! All this only a 4 hour flight from the UK!
1.5 hours drive to Marrakech, making a day trip to this magnificent city a must.
As a modern cosmopolitan resort Agadir is in many ways not typically Moroccan in its liberal, easygoing attitude towards wining and dining with literally hundreds of International bars, restaurants and shops, which run along the length of the extensive brightly-lit beach front promenade.
Literally all tastes will be catered for in the numerous restaurants found in Agadir, anything goes from McDonalds and Pizza Hut, Indian and Chinese restaurants, English pub food complete with the opportunity to catch up on Sky Sports, right through to the other end of the scale - numerous high quality international restaurants serving up top class cuisine - the choice is yours!
For shoppers, unlike the manic hustle and bustle of the Marrakech souks, Agadir offers exactly the same extensive selection of traditional Moroccan gifts, souvenirs, clothing, leather goods, jewellery etc. except in a much calmer setting and on a much smaller scale in the plethora of sea front shops.
In typically Moroccan style once you step over the threshold you will be hassled, albeit in a good-natured way, negotiating is compulsory if you decide on a purchase, they will be disappointed if you don’t, bartering is all part of their fun!
Marina Agadir Resort
Located in the brand new “Marina Agadir” resort which is by far the most prestigious and up market location in Agadir.
Apart from being literally yards from the most wonderful golden beach, both our properties also have the benefit of the 3 large communal pools and sunbathing areas set in the beautiful landscaped gardens within the private, gated complex.
The entire resort is built around the magnificent purpose-built marina which also boasts an excellent selection of high class shops ranging from Zara through to exclusive individual outlets, plus a selection of bars and restaurants literally a few yards walk from your door. There is also a supermarket for your daily requirements, pharmacy, laundry, bank with cash machine, car hire office, beauty salon and many services to ensure everything you need is at your fingertips.
We can particularly recommend first hand the VENEZIA ice bar with its range of exotic ice creams, sundaes, pastries and breakfast crepes. Definitely the place for a little well earned holiday time self indulgence! (calorie counting not recommended!).
Tourist attractions
The apartment also benefits from the brand new Motorway that links Agadir to Marrakech. This superb new super fast toll road has recently opened, the new motorway literally cuts straight through the Atlas mountains offering magnificent scenery and slashes travel time down from 3.5 hours to a mere 1.5 hours. This really does make a day trip to this magnificent city a must.Directions
On arrival at Agadir Airport outside the departure lounge, after acquiring a white taxi please ask for Marina Agadir (this is impossible for the taxi drive to get wrong, there is only one Marina Agadir). The journey to the Marina is approximately 35 minutes and will cost in the region of £25 (250 Moroccan Dirhams subject to exchange rate). Details of where to collect your keys on the Marina will be given when your final holiday balance is received.
